Mind-Body Medical University (MBMU) is pleased to give full degree program scholarship rewards at total amount of $100,000 to two winner students (one male singer and one female singer, including prospective students) of Global MBMU School Song Singing Competition. The prize covers completely graduate school or undergraduate school degree program enrollment tuition and fees. Upon the receipt of the prize, these two winner students will receive the Reward Certificate of School Song Singer Star and the Scholarship Tuition Paycheck Certificate that can directly pay off the school tuition and fees for a complete degree program.

Competition Song:

MBMU School Song, the very energizing and spiritually enriched healing song of the Mind-Body Medical University's Students, Faculty and Staff members. Please read the school song page and find out the pre-composed melodies and lyrics. The provided mp3 accompaniment music can be used for making the singing recording or the singer can make own accompaniment music by following the original composition. Rewards & Prizes:

Scholarship Prize: Tuition Paycheck Certificate that can directly pay off MBMU tuition and fees for a complete degree program at MBMU.

After Competition:

The Male and Female Winners of the school song singers' work will be incorporated into one peice of the final version: MBMU School Song Recording, and published online, YouTube, YouMaker, and MBMU website.

Who Can Participate:

Anyone who wants to attend MBMU including high school students, college students (bachelor, master or doctor students), medical doctors, holistic / alternative doctors, psychologists or any individual who has interest in learning Mind-Body Medicine and enroll in MBMU.

No location, race, language background or age restriction. If the participant can sing in multiple languages, use the most comfortable language to sing as major recording to submit, but as secondary language English recording is required. The evacuation will be based on both. For Chinese singers, the original poem must be correctly pronounced in standard mandarin.

Well-Known Singers and Musicians Rewards:

The participants include already well known singers and musicians. If in such case of becoming MBMU student not an interest but the singer just wants to join the activity and supports the school, separately MBMU will issue honorable Reward Certificate of School Song Singer Star and honorable guest faculty member in MBMU Art Therapy Department. The two students winners will be still available for other participants.

Jan. 9, 2010, Saturday, 7:00 PM, Pacific Time

Form of Competition:

Global Online Competition Concert Through YouTube, YouMaker and Online Web Video Conference

Media and Public Relationship:

Global Press Release will be submitted over the net and local media invitation will be sent out. The local media Press Conference will be hosted during and right after the Competition Result comes out.

Deadline of Application:

The deadline for the recording submission is Dec. 31, 2009, Middle Night, Pacific Time.

Competition Evaluation Criterions:

1). Understanding about the song's lyrics and melody.
2). Express the song with singer's true feeling and singing techniques
3). Accuracy in respecting the original melodies and lyrics of the School Song
4). Creative expression and techniques are encouraged if enhancing the song's original spirit
5). Recording quality, clarity, richness are evaluated
6). The Energetic and emotional factors are all evaluated
7). If using self made accompany music, it will be accounted into the evaluation factor.

Entry Process:

1. Read MBMU School Song Page, well digest the song lyrics and melody by reading the content and listening to the prerecorded mp3 background music. The school song is well created with great energy and spirit of MBMU. Reading, listening and practicing the song over and over will help the singer optimize the talent and make the best performance

2. Send Letter of Intent to the competition commission by using the following form at the end of this page and attach your personal photo. The Letter of Intent simply tells the commission that you are interested in participating the competition with your contact information and your background introduction.

3. The competition commission will send you an email to confirm that you can start preparation for participating.

4. Make two draft recordings of the song by singing along the music; one is with the music recorded and one without the music. Use the best equipments you have or you can access. Save the recording in mp3 file in stereo quality. The recording must have no any engendering editing, echo or reverb effects added, in order to competition commissioners to recognize your original vocal quality and singing techniques. This recording is just for pre-qualifying competition participants' entry, but not for final recording.

5. Submit the above mp3 recording files through email at contact@mbmu.org. Name the files with your name followed by number 1 or 2 for with and without the music, respectively.

6. In 3 days after your recording received, if you are accepted then you will receive a notice that tells you that you are accepted as the competition participant.


7. You start making your professional recording of the MBMU School Song with the best condition you have for the competition and submit to contact@mbmu.org with file named with your first and last name. The deadline for the submission is Dec. 31, 2010, Middle Night, Pacific Time. The recording can be audio only or video / audio full version. Video is encouraged if possible. Professional studio and musical engineering work can be involved.

8. Jan. 9, 2010, Saturday, 7:00 PM, Pacific Time, Global Online Competition Concert of MBMU School Song Competition through YouTube, YouMaker, Web Video Conference system. Anyone can participate the competition concert. The concert is hosted by the Competition Commission. All selected participants' recordings will be broadcasted through the internet. The concert will be last 90 minutes. To receive the link of YouTube page and Web Video Real Time Live Concert, please email SchoolSongCompetition@mbmu.org.

9. The result of competition will be 70% based on Commissioners and 30% based on the online concert audiences. All the audiences who attend the concert have right to vote. The evaluation criterions including:

1). Understanding about the song's lyrics and melody.
2). Express the song with singer's true feeling and singing techniques
3). Accuracy in respecting the original melodies and lyrics of the School Song
4). Creative expression and techniques are encouraged if enhancing the song's original spirit
5). Recording quality, clarity, richness are evaluated
6). The Energetic and emotional factors are all evaluated
7). If using self made accompany music, it will be accounted into the evaluation factor.

10. The winners will receive the Rewards at the end of the Competition Concert around the time of Jan. 9, 2010, Saturday, 8:30 PM, Pacific Time

11. After the competition, the Male and Female Winners of the school song singers' work will be incorporated into one peice of the final version: MBMU School Song Recording to be published online, YouTube, YouMaker, and MBMU website.
