Certificate Programs
TCM Five Elements Music Healing Therapy (TCM MT):
One of the most important branches in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is Chinese Music Therapy and Healing. However this has been not regularly practiced in modern Chinese medicine practice although there may be a small number of practitioners using this healing modality in a non-conventional way. This course is especially created at MBMU to teach this very important Chinese / Oriental Medicine. The course will relate the fundamental principles of TCM with music sound energy pattern, human organs, emotions and psychological factors into one system. TCM music healing therapy techniques, music selection, sampling, practice and application will be included in the training. Through this course students will be able to use therapeutic Chinese music and energy sound vibrations in their existing practice including psychotherapy, hypnosis, natural medicine, holistic medicine practices.
.An associated and advanced course "Chinese Music Healing Composition" is available (see below). It teaches the five element music composition for professional musician or therapist.

Brainwave Meridian Therapy (BMT):
This comprehensive healing technique combines principles of traditional oriental medicine Five Element Theory, mind-body medicine, brainwave science, and a series of integrated healing modalities such as Five Element energy healing music and brainwave sounds, neuron feedback, hypnotherapy (optional), etc. BMT involves no needles, no drugs, and no side effects. The best part of BMT is that it targets not just the physical symptoms, but also the whole being - mind, body, and emotion. Combining with TCM MT, BMT deeply reaches the root cause of health problem to improve the whole being.

Oriental Herbology:
This certificate course can be designed at different levels based on individual student's background. The course teaches you to apply the knowledge of Traditional Oriental Herbology and Herb Formulas in holistic health counseling and practice. The covered topics include:
1. Applied TCM Herbology.
2. Oriental Herbal Principles.
3. Herbal Formula.
4. Application in common health issues.

Advanced Meditation for Healthcare Professionals:
This is a required basic program for anyone who registers any one of the certificate programs. The course is an enriched principle teaching and advanced practice class of mind-body-spirit cultivation science, Qigong meditation. Different from health club or meditation group, this is a course that helps health practitioner understand the origin of human spirituality, mind-body cultivation system, energy practice, cause of diseases and healing the cause at higher spiritual level. This course will elevate your energy level to be qualified as a truly good health practitioner. You will get involved in the Qigong meditation practice and enjoy many benefits for your own health mentally and physically, and as well as your clients.

Holistic Hypnotherapy:
This course will teach you the hypnosis theory and clinical application. It trains you to be able to start the hypnosis practice for health improvement. The focus of the study will address specific components of hypnosis including induction, suggestibility, direct and indirect suggestion and post-hypnotic suggestion. The clinical application of hypnosis will focus on some common health issues including but not limit to: depression, anxiety, bipolar, addiction (e.g., smoking, alcohol, drug), pain, weight problem, and other issues. The training will also teach the clinical settings in combination with other types of practice, such as sound healing, energy music healing, meditation, etc. |
Holistic Nutrition Counseling:
Through this course, students or trainees will learn the most important principles, concepts and practice of holistic nutrition, explore the world of traditional nutrients such as protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, and minerals, as well as the more recently researched phytonutrients. The topics will focus on:
· Educating both the practitioner and clients with the basic nutritional terms
· Incorporating natural and organic foods
· Overcoming obstacles in practicing holistic nutrition
· Creating simple holistic menus
· Developing a customized holistic diet
· Addressing the role of natural holistic supplements
· Reviewing the latest nutritional studies
· Addressing chronic health conditions with holistic nutri

Clinical Nutrition:
This course provides student as future nutritionists with knowledge and skills through the training in nutrition science and its clinical application. The course covers two parts; the principles, concepts and theory of nutrition medicine and the subject and practice of clinical nutrition. A critical assessment of clinical case studies and compulsory lessens take place. The topics includes 1). Food and Nutrient Requirements; 2). Digestion and Absorption; 3). Nutritional Metabolism; 4). Dietary and Nutritional Assessment; 5). Public Health Nutrition and Food Choices; 6). Clinical Nutrition; 7). Clinical Case Studies Dissertation. |
Chinese Music Healing Composition:
This program will train you to compose Five Element Music for health practice. Basic music background and playing a musical instrument will help learn the course. Otherwise you will still explore the depth of the Five Element energy music composition and application. |

This course will review the theoretical foundations, interventions, and applications of positive psychology. In this course the evidence supporting the findings of positive psychology will be reviewed. It will also examine the strengths and virtues outlined in positive psychology, as well as the types of human behavior that contributes positively to personal growth and psychological well being. The course will also explore the psychological tools and interventions that allow this study to be applied in clinical practice.

Energy Psychology:
This course will teach energy psychology and explore the effectiveness and depth of both positive psychology and energy psychology. This course will review convincing evidences supporting the findings of positive energy psychology. It will also examine the strengths and virtues outlined in positive psychology and energy psychology, as well as the types of human behavior and mental strength that contributes positively and energetically to personal growth and psychological well being. The course will also explore the psychological tools and interventions that allow this study to be applied in clinical practice and daily health practice. |
Behavioral Medicine:
This course promotes acquisition and integration of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values that permit you to:
1. Use behavioral science concepts and strategies to integrate client-centered, disease-based, population-based, and evidence-based medicine into holistic healthcare.
2. Communicate effectively and efficiently within the therapist-client relationship, and with professionals and the public.
3. Promote lifestyle improvements / changes in the service of health promotion and disease prevention.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP):
This course explores the technology of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) that enables practitioner to unlock the power of human communication and of human excellence. Students lean the discipline, skills and application of NLP applied successfully across personal development, healing practice, business, education, research, sport and other areas. This course is both degree program and certificate program. |
Natural Family Herbs:
This course will introduce you to western herbal medicine, with a focus on Native American & North American herbology. This course will also explore the function of these herbs and the methods of application. Beside conventional usages of the herbs this course is also designed at MBMU especially for psychologist and natural healing practitioners in using guided meditation, hypnosis and imagery therapy with the native herbs. The techniques learned in the course will allow the practitioner to guide the patient to connect with the energy field and healing power of the herbs through meditation, imagery therapy and hypnosis. |
Neuron Feedback:
This course teaches neuron science with focus on brainwave and its application clinically. The course will bring most important and integrative knowledge and techniques to students in this field. The basic teaching will focus on basic physiology of the brain, brainwaves, brainwaves recording, analysis, clinical meaning, sound waves therapy and neuron feedback therapy. |
